Upick Strawberries
We are closing our upick field.
Final day will be 7/9/23 from 8am - 1pm
We have bittersweet news to share. This season is our final season of upick strawberries. We are going to continue to grow strawberries, but on a smaller scale for our farm stands only. While we are sad to be closing this chapter, we are also excited to be able to reprioritize and focus more time and energy into our 4 farms stands, pumpkin patch and upick tulips. Agriculture has changed considerably since we opened our fields to the public nearly 40 years ago. As hard as it will be, it is time for our farm to adapt so we can continue for future generations.
Doug is the 7th generation of Chipman Farm, and he took over the upick in the late 80’s. He met his wife, Elaine, in the upick field 37 years ago. Their daughters have run the upick field for the past 14 years, and Tomi is now raising 3 little farm girls of her own. We farm 50 acres of mixed vegetables and fruit, and run our 4 roadside stands seasonally.
We have countless memories in the strawberry field with our crew and with loyal customers. We appreciate everyone who has worked long hot days with us, and those customers who came back year after year, even when Mother Nature wasn’t on our side. We hope you understand this wasn’t an easy decision for us, and we will miss you all.
While we won’t be running our upick anymore, we will still be busy farming. We will miss seeing you in the field, but hope to see familiar faces at our farm stands, the pumpkin patch and our tulip field.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
The Chipmans
